OT: Okay Guitar Players.... Let's see your axes!!!

I know what you mean by the balance, so I got a fabric and leather strap with lots of grip on the shoulder. I tried a nylon strap and the damn guitar just slid all over the place.

The SG neck was made for my hands IMO, and I love the sound. I still regret trading in my old Ibanez Blazer back then....That guitar had a light body (ash?) and it screamed...feedback and squeals with total tone control.

But I played some SG's and fell in love with the neck feel....Ibanez and Fenders are a bit wide for me, and I don't like having to "work" for every note.

Sad thing is...with my age/ bad shoulder, playing ends up with a sore shoulder for days...I need to play more despite the pain....If anything, I always play Little Wing so I don't forget at least ONE song...LOL>

I play through a Marshall Valvestate but usually play it clean and use my Zoom 505 effects pedal for all the cool trippy sounds.

One of my favorites is CD backing tracks...I have some 12 bar blues backing tracks that I just go insane playing over...production of the tracks are pretty good too.

Oh yeah to answer your question...I play it neither high or low..about middle...

Ah yes... that reminds me.

I stopped playing guitars with a 24 3/4" scale (I had that SG, a Les Paul, and an Explorer)... I have long fingers and the frets just seem jammed too close together.

Even Paul Reed Smith's are kinda tight (25" scale).

My Charvel (and most Strats) have a 25 1/2" scale... and my Baritone guitar has a 27" scale. That feels much more comfortable to me. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Cool Baimun....I remember a quote from Ritchie Blackmore...who fell in love with Strats because you "Have to work for every note".

BTW: Have you ever heard anything by Danny Gatton, AKA World's best unknown Guitar player?

Listen to Funhouse from Cruisin Dueces, and you'll be blown away.

Back when Guitar World used to put those flexible plastic singles in the center of the magazine... there was a single by Gatton. It was pretty amazing.
